The goal of the current study is to investigate the compatibility of compounded medication with SyrSpend ® SF in nasogastric tubes compared to Nexium® granules and omeprazole Sandoz ® . As a worst case scenario, high doses of paracetamol (acetaminophen) and (es)omeprazole were examined in the smallest available nasogastric tubes. During the study, the three most commonly used materials in nasogastric tubes (silicone, polyvinylchloride (PVC) and polyurethane (PUR)) were tested.
